The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot – Does it Work?

Last updated: September 11, 2024 by Patrick Sinclair 4 Comments

The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot is what you use if you have to clean your window, including the outer side. Imagine if you are living high up in an apartment building, or if you have to clean windows on the second floor. With this window-cleaning robot, you no longer have to risk injury or falling out the window.

Is the Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot worth buying?

Design and dimensions

The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot has a near-oblong shape with contours on the sides, making it look very modern and even futuristic. The plastic window cleaning robot is accented with black markings.

The two microfiber pads, the part that does the actual cleaning, are found below the robot. The product measures 11.61 inches by 5.91 inches by 4.92 inches. It is also lightweight at only 950 grams.

Ease of use

The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot is designed to make it very easy to use. You just turn it on and then put it against the window pane and it will start cleaning immediately. It uses a vacuum pump, which allows it to stick to your windows and keep it from falling off, even as it moves around. After it is done cleaning, you should hold the robot first before turning off the power. It should be easy to pull it off from your window with the vacuum turned off.

Furthermore, an included remote control allows you to direct the cleaning robot where you want it to go. This is very useful for spots that it may have missed.

This robotic window cleaner uses three cleaning modes to ensure the most comprehensive coverage for your windows. Once you place the robot on your windows, it will use the sensors to figure out the best cleaning path and get to work immediately.

Mobile app

The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot comes with a companion mobile app that you can use instead of the physical remote control. Using the app, you can direct the robot in any direction and even select different cleaning modes manually.

Other features

The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot comes with a 5.5-meter power cable. It needs to be constantly powered, so having a long cable is necessary, especially if you have a power outlet that is far from your windows or if you have tall windows.

It also comes with a strong safety rope that would make it easier for you to retrieve it in the off chance that it falls off while cleaning your windows. Furthermore, it uses a polymer lithium battery that needs to be charged for an hour.

Difference from other window cleaning robots

The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot differs from traditional cleaning robots in two ways.

1. Older window cleaning devices have a counterpart for the outside glass of your windows because they use magnets. The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot works only on one side, because contrary to its name, it does not use magnets, rather it uses a powerful vacuum.

2. Older window cleaning robots cannot clean horizontally, only vertically. You can use the Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot to clean your floors, table tops and other horizontal surfaces, just as long as you wet them first.

3. The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot is the first robot cleaner that has a mobile app.

What you would like about the Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot

The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot is an efficient worker, cleaning a square meter in only 4 minutes. Others might say that it is slow, but spending time on a particular area only means that it is cleaning properly.

It also does not matter if you have greasy, grimy or dusty windows. This window cleaning robot will be able to clean all these. Window cleaning solutions like Windex or any other washing liquids are totally optional. Even without these, the robot’s microfiber pads would still clean very efficiently.

You will also love that the company included 14 microfiber pads in the box. Considering that you can wash and reuse these pads, it means that you won’t need to buy replacement pads for a very long time.

Most importantly, the Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot is very reasonably priced.

What could be better

The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot needs your glass windows to be 6 mm or thicker and to have a flat surface. It also needs your windows to have frames. Use it on a thinner glass and the vacuum suction will break it. The robot cleaner also cannot distinguish edges, so if you have a corner window without frames, the device will just continue cleaning until it reaches the edge and falls off.

While the Alfawise window cleaner does have a mobile app, it does not offer much features. Understandably, you cannot schedule the robot to clean at a specific time because you have to be there to put it up on your windows. There is no way for the robot to stick to vertical surfaces unless the vacuum is turned on. What’s more, the robot connects to your smartphone using Bluetooth, instead of Wi-Fi. This means that the range is limited to only 10 meters.

Furthermore, while the cleaning robot does use a battery, you would still need to have it plugged in when you use it. The battery’s main function is not to power the device, but rather as a backup. If you are cleaning your windows and the power goes out, the battery would keep the vacuum suction running so that your Alfawise does not fall off.

Another thing that Alfawise should work on is the fact that the robot cleaner does not do corners well. With circular pads, the corners are barely reached.

Alternatives to the Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot

While the Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot is a highly recommended window cleaner, you might want to consider other brands just to be sure that you are getting the best cleaner for your needs. There are a handful of companies that offer their own window cleaning robots. One prime example is Ecovacs, which has its Winbot series.

Winbot has several models, including Winbot X, 950, 850 and 930, among many others. Taking a look at Winbot X, this robot window cleaner eschews the power cord and uses several cleaning patterns to clean your windows. It is also very quiet. The Ecovacs Winbot is one of the best robot window cleaner brands around. But it does come with a price. For instance, the Ecovacs Winbot W950 sells on Amazon.

You can also consider getting a Hobot Robot Window Cleaner. Right now, there are six models available on the Taiwanese company’s Web site: the Hobot 288, 268, 198, 188, 168, and 68. Looking at the Hobot 288, you would see that this cleaner works faster than the Alfawise, covering a square meter of space in just 2.4 minutes. It also has anti-falling technology and can detect edges.

You can check out the Rumbot Window, too. Like Alfawise, it can clean both horizontal and vertical surfaces, but can clean a square meter in only 2.5 minutes. This one, however, costs a bit more.

If you are looking for an alternative to Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot that is nearer its price tag, then you should take a look at the robot window cleaners from Cop Rose. The company offers robot window cleaners and works similarly to Alfawise.

Final Say

The Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot is not perfect, but it is certainly one of the best robot window cleaners available in the market today. It cleans rather efficiently and it really takes out the hassles and dangers of cleaning the outside panes of your windows.

Aside from the fast and efficient cleaning of your windows, the Alfawise robot window cleaner also offers a physical remote control that allows you to manually drive the robot. If you lose this, you can just download the companion mobile app that can also serve as a remote control. And while the mobile app’s features are rather barebones, this sets the Alfawise robot above others that do not have a mobile app.

What’s more, unlike other window cleaning robots, you can use the Alfawise Magnetic Window Cleaning Robot to clean tiled walls, concrete walls, and even the floor. This is because the robot cleaner can work on horizontal surfaces.

Going back to our original question on whether to buy the Alfawise Magnetic Windown Cleaning Robot or not, the answer is yes. This is a very well-designed robot that is also affordable and cleans really well. For its price, it comes with several features that help it trump other devices in the same space.

I have a robot. Alfawise s60 for window.
When I plug in electricity it makes noises of trying to work. The power button on the cleaner does not respond. There is an orange light that blinks and it constantly makes a faint noise of a fan. what could be the problem?
