Roomba 595 vs 770 – Are the Differences Worth the Money?

Last updated: September 19, 2024 by Patrick Sinclair Leave a Comment

The leading manufacturer of robotic vacuums around the world is iRobot. They are considered one of the pioneers of the robot vacuum industry and are known for releasing remarkable products that provide owners relief with cleaning their homes and offices.

With the release of each of their vacuums in the line of Roomba products, iRobot continues to improve the technology used, providing consumers with the best items they could spend their hard-earned money on.

The price of robotic vacuums could be considered too high for some consumers, but when you calculate the amount of time and energy saved with the use of these products, the cost turns out to be worth it.

Two of the best products that iRobot has released in the past few years are the Roomba 595 and the Roomba 770. The latter is a more updated version of the former, but both products would make for a great tool to keep your home clean day after day throughout the year.

Each model comes equipped with several features that help make sure your home is cleaner than ever before.

Features of iRobot Roomba 595

For any home that contains dogs, cats, or any other animals that shed hair all over the carpets, hardwood, and tile flooring of your home, the iRobot Roomba 595 is made for you.

This vacuum is powerful enough to pick up all the pet hair from your floors, as well as other particles, and was designed to last for several years, making it worth the investment.

Works on All Floor Surfaces

Many older models of robotic vacuums usually had the same problem of running into difficulties in adjusting to the different type of floor surfaces you may find in your home. The iRobot Roomba 595 does not have that problem at all and will clean most types of surfaces without issue.

If you plan to run the vacuum each day, you will want to follow what the instruction manual states and clean the dust bin after each use. This will ensure that when your vacuum is adjusting from surface to surface, there will be room in the small bin to collect the dirt and debris.

One-Touch Operation

This vacuum is ideal for those looking to get a cleaner floor surface without doing the work. With the old-school upright models, you would need to move furniture to clean beneath couches, end tables, beds, and more.

The back-breaking labor would often require the help of an additional person, which would sometimes be impossible.

By negating the need to move any of this furniture, you will be able to collect all of the dust bunnies from beneath the bed, as well as any debris and dirt that would be beneath any other pieces of furniture in your home.

Quiet Operation

One of the best advancements that iRobot has helped with over the years is making their products operate in such a manner that you could sleep next to the vacuum and it wouldn’t affect.

This is something that was never possible before, but with the release of this model and many others in their Roomba line, even when your baby is asleep, this unit won’t wake anyone up.

What’s in the Box?

When you get this vacuum home, you will find the unit itself, as well as the charging station. You will also get virtual walls, extra air filters, brushes, and instruction manual. You get everything you need to ensure your vacuum will clean as it was meant to.

Features of iRobot Roomba 770

The iRobot Roomba 770 is a bit different of a robotic vacuum model as it is not made specifically for homes that contain pets. Despite that, this vacuum and the increased price tag that comes with it is worth the extra money.

Many of the features of this vacuum can be found in the iRobot Roomba 595, but this model in particular is advertised to clean as much as 98 percent of dust, dirt, and pet hair on all the different floor surfaces of your home.

In addition, there are numerous other features that the iRobot 770 features.

3-Stage Cleaning Process Series II

The main reason why this vacuum claims and follows through on its claim of cleaning as much as 98 percent of all debris on your floor is its 3-stage cleaning process series II.

This technological advancement features both optical and acoustic sensors that allow the vacuum to sense and track down all the dirt in your home. Essentially, this vacuum pays close attention to all the details that you once needed to do when operating an upright vacuum.

Dual HEPA Air Filters

Keeping the air in your home or office is an important trait of any kind of vacuum and when designing this Roomba, developers installed dual HEPA air filters that collect dangerous particulates from the air, as well as allergens, and dust.

Not only will your home end up cleaner than ever after each use, the air will feel extremely fresh.

Dirt Detect Series

The iRobot Roomba 770 cleans the floor with a persistent pass cleaning pattern that uses the sensors to clean your home as if you were operating an upright unit. The acoustic sensors find all the dirt and debris on the ground and rely on the optical sensors to pick up pet hair.

With its several ways of detecting and cleaning the dirt in your home, the iRobot Roomba 770 collects more dirt than any other vacuum on the market.

iAdapt Responsive Cleaning Technology

In some of the earlier models of robotic vacuums, one of the biggest problems found came from the normal everyday obstacles. The older models would be unable to travel beneath furniture, along floorboards, around obstacles including couch skirts.

With the iAdapt Responsive Cleaning Technology found on this vacuum, your vacuum will recognize cords, carpet fringe, and many other obstructions and won’t get caught up.

Virtual Wall

What helps keep the iRobot Roomba 770 within the areas that it needs to clean are the virtual walls that come equipped. These two Virtual Wall units can be set up around your home, setting up a much needed border, protecting property and the vacuum.

On Board Scheduling

One of the biggest conveniences of using the iRobot Roomba 770 is the on board scheduling, which allows you to set up your own cleaning schedule. Whether you are sleeping, on vacation, or at work, this vacuum can operate. Simply schedule the unit to run and it will complete its scheduled run.

Should it run out of battery charge during the cleaning process, it will return to the included docking station, recharge, and pick up where it left off.

Remote Control

A remote control might not seem like a major technological advancement, but with robotic vacuums, it is a helpful and much-needed addition. With the ability to start the vacuum without ever leaving the comfort of the couch, you will be able to clean up any spills that anyone in your home may have caused.

What’s in the Box?

The highly advanced iRobot Roomba 770 also comes with the charging station, HEPA air filters, round brushes, cleaning tools, flat brush cleaning tool, virtual walls, and more.

Final Recommendation: Roomba 595 or 770?

Roomba 595 vs 770 – Are the Differences Worth the Money?

Both of these vacuums will help clean all the dirt, dust, and debris from your home. Each unit comes equipped with many valuable extras and both will work in all the impossible to reach areas on your home that have been collecting dirt and debris for weeks at a time.

The iRobot Roomba 595 is made especially for those homes that feature animals, but the iRobot Roomba 770 is also extremely capable of cleaning up the pet hair, as well as 98 percent of the other dirt on your floors.

The iRobot Roomba 770 is also one of the best on the market in terms of keeping the air fresh. It will cost a little more than the iRobot Roomba 595, but it is easier to find for sale and will last for many years to come.

Overall, I’d recommend sticking with the later model Roomba 770. You can find it for a decent price at this listing (or see below for live pricing data).
